# GrowingApps

Competitive ASO and mobile app market intelligence for independent developers and small studios.

**Short answer.** GrowingApps takes one app — yours, or an idea for one — finds the products that actually compete with it, and then keeps watching that market: rankings, store metadata, releases, ratings, reviews, keyword demand and new entrants. It is built for teams that run live apps without a dedicated analyst.

## What it is

A market model of the mobile app catalog, kept continuously up to date, wrapped in the workflows a small team actually runs: find the competitive set, watch it, understand what moved, decide what to do next.

The scale it works at: over 4 million apps across both stores, grouped into more than 11 thousand niches, refreshed daily.

## Who it is for

Independent developers and small studios managing live apps without a dedicated research team. Idea validation is supported, but ongoing competitive monitoring is the core workflow.

## How it differs from a keyword tool

A keyword tool starts with a phrase. GrowingApps starts with an app and the market around it, then evaluates keywords alongside competitor behaviour, niche structure, historical movement and review signals. The competitive set is built once and reused everywhere: monitoring, keyword gaps, review analysis and niche research all run on the same market.

## What it does

### Finds the real competitors

Paste a Google Play or App Store link, or describe a complete product idea. Matching works by meaning, audience and use case rather than by store category, so the result is the products a user would actually choose between — not the alphabetical neighbours in a category listing. The output is a watchlist that the rest of the workflow runs on.

### Measures a niche as a market

Apps are grouped by what they do and who they serve, and each niche is measured on size, concentration, growth, quality, new entrants and neighbouring markets. That answers a different question from "how big is this category": it shows whether the downloads sit with two giants or spread across a middle layer, and whether newcomers have been taking share recently.

### Watches for change, and sorts it from noise

Ranking moves, metadata edits, releases, rating shifts and growth are recorded across your app, its competitors and its niche. A title rewrite by a competitor, a rival entering the top 10 for a query you care about, an implausible rating jump — each is reported with what changed and when, and separated from routine movement.

### Finds keyword gaps that are actually reachable

The competitive set turns into an ASO plan: where rivals rank, where your app is absent, and which growing queries are attainable rather than merely large. Queries differ in kind, and the difference decides whether renaming helps at all — some are won by wording in the title, some are matched word by word, some are decided by installs no matter what you call yourself, some belong to a brand, and some are carried by no top result at all.

### Reads competitor reviews at scale

Thousands of reviews across your real competitor set are grouped into recurring strengths and recurring pain points: what users reward, what they punish, and what the whole category is expected to have. The practical split is what to build, what to defend and what not to copy.

### Answers one-off questions about the catalog

When a signal raises a question, the whole market can be queried directly — installs, app age, growth shape, genre, whether a niche is open to a small developer — with conditions nested and combined.

## The weekly loop

1. **Observe.** Apps, developers, niches and keywords share one watchlist. Continuous.
2. **Explain.** Rank changes get connected to releases, metadata edits, ratings, reviews and new entrants. Daily.
3. **Decide.** Attainable keyword gaps, product weaknesses and market shifts are ranked by evidence. Weekly.
4. **Measure.** Visibility and rank are compared after each metadata, release or product change. Week over week.

## Coverage and freshness

Google Play and the App Store on the US storefront, with search demand collected in eight languages. Additional countries are planned.

The catalog is monitored continuously rather than rebuilt on a fixed schedule: fast-moving and newly released apps are refreshed more often, dormant ones less often. Change metrics are calculated from comparable observations, and every result states the period it was measured over.

## Access

GrowingApps is in private beta. Teams are onboarded personally: you request a demo with your app or idea, and interactive queries on the public site run on a personal access key. Public pricing will follow once plans are finalised.
